So, we are surrounded by carpenter bees. Being new to the burbs I never had to deal with major insects (well, except for humongous cockroaches once/ year in my bathroom).
So, apparently carpenter bees had chosen the swing set and our garage door for their homes. They are huge, like small helicopters, and they are so loud they make the ground shake.
Once I was coming in from grocery shopping and I heard a loud buzzing, and the ground started shaking I looked up just to find this huge black bee hovering over me. I ran in and closed the door behind me. That’s when I started researching and found out they are carpenter bees.
The good news is that most of the time these are male and supposedly they don’t sting, but they can surely dig perfectly round holes in the wood… uhmm
