  • Write about the first wild creature that you see which inspires you on the day you write your poem (by wild creature I do not mean your spouse, etc.). *If you cannot get outside—write about the nature /wildlife within your home or visible from a window (even the window of your mind).
  • Potential themes:

The important symbiosis of wildlife, nature and us;

Our emotional connection to the smallest of creatures (or the largest);

Anything about the natural world;

How your observation of an animal, insect, bird, or wildflower, etc. makes you feel;

How nature and wildlife are vital to mental health and physical wellbeing.

  • Write in any poetry form or style you wish.

I sit outside

Cup of coffee in hand

A bird comes and lands

Next to me

On a blooming tree

What bird is it?

A sparrow

So small, so dainty

  1. Did you mention your Spouse, Ken? It made me 😁. Especially the following sentence that is unnecessarily perhaps a big jump into nature antidotes. As a practising Physician, your comment has given me a new treatment plan. Hire a Bus 🚌 with all the patients at the waterfalls. ( no spouses) Thank you, Ken . 💥💥💥💥
