The time … my toddler threw another tantrum but …

So last night was another tantrum night.

I don’t recall the reason but he started crying and kick me and hit me. As per the many books I read about how to deal with toddlers during a tantrum I let him know that he was hurting me, when he didn’t stop I told him that I was not going to let him hurt me so I will step away until he calms down.

So this was the first time I took this approach of explaining my actions.

I stood up and left the room and closed the door (without realizing the room had gotten dark). He was still crying, I went back after 2 minutes. I lied in bed with him again and the strangest thing happened.

He stopped crying and just looked at me.

His face was the sweetest face I had ever seen in my life. It wasn’t…
