The Sycamore Gap tree

The Sycamore Gap tree, also known as the Robin Hood tree, once stood next to Hadrian’s Wall near Crag Lough in Northumberland, England. This iconic landmark gained fame after appearing in the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, starring Kevin Costner. Although it was some 170 miles (273 km) from Sherwood Forest, it became a popular spot for walkers and photographers due to its unusual setting. Sadly, in 2023, the tree was deliberately chopped down, leaving only its stump. Despite its absence, locals and visitors will always remember the famous Sycamore Gap
